"Politics is the art of obtaining money from the rich and
votes from the poor on the pretext of protecting each from the other."

I am an American. No
hyphenation, no modifiers, just American. I was born here, as were my parents, and in
parts of the family tree, their parents before them (and then some to before the Civil
War). I have an Irish and German heritage, but it certainly does alter the fact of my
nationality. The USA was founded on what are probably the greatest principles ever put
down on paper. The fact that legislators and judges have managed to distort this over the
past 150 years is our greatest shame.
As an American, I truly believe in our Constitution (with it's respective Amendments) and the Freedoms it guarantees. As has been said before in the simplest, sweetest words ever spoken "Give me Liberty, or give me death!" For those who prefer a wordier version, Benjamin Franklin said "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Let's face it, the United States federal government has managed to expand far beyond the restrictions placed on it by the States through the Constitution. Ask yourself a few simple questions. Why did it take a Constitutional Amendment to ban alcohol, but not a limited list of drugs? Why is our current tax bill so high? Will the federal debt ever be paid off as long as we operate on deficit spending? Will children born today really have to pay over 86% of their income to the federal government? Why is the government so deathly afraid of an armed population? Why have more people died as a result of the so-called "War on Drugs" than in the entire Viet Nam War?

Because of this, I am a
member of 2 different, but similar, political parties. I am, at heart, a Republican. Not
because I believe in what the Christian Coalition represents, but because I believe that
government is nothing more than a necessary evil; that government closest to the people is
best; that local control is necessary to allow different communities to establish their
own standards of life; and because government spending should never be used as a
substitute for family, church, and community support of persons in trouble.
I am an active member of my party. I currently serve in the following positions:
Member New Jersey Republican State Committee's
Advisory Council for Youth
Chairman of the Hudson
County Young Republicans
Executive Committee Member - Hudson
County Republican Committee
Republican Links
Republican National Committee
New Jersey Republican State Committee
Hudson County Republican Committee
Young Republican National Federation
Young Republicans of New Jersey
Hudson County Young Republicans
I am also a firm believer in the rights guaranteed by the United
States Constitution. Because of that, I am also a member of the only political party that
proposes to return us to the true meaning of that document - The Libertarian Party. We hope to return
individual rights and liberties to there proper, prominent role in limiting the activities
of the government and the governments intrusion into the people's daily lives.
Some people might not see the compatibility between these two organizations, but many people feel the same way. They are those who believe in conservative fiscal policies as well as liberal civil liberty practices:
Republican Liberty Caucus
Republican Youth Majority

My personal list of the biggest problems our current level of irresponsible, careless, statist, power-mongering, invasive government have to be the National Debt, continuing disregard for the Bill of Rights, and a Supreme Court that has yet to recover from the terrible statist views of John Jay that still have the court making decisions in favor of the government instead of to the sovereign people the government is answerable to.
