Rock Hill Scout Reservation
562 acres of preserved wilderness located 11 miles from the historic
Dingman's Ferry Bridge, just outside of Milford, Pennsylvania, Rock Hill Scout
Reservation has been providing exciting outdoor experiences for Scouts and
Scouters since 1955. Rock Hill is available for short term camping from September until
June each year with cabins, tent sites, and lean-tos available. Call the Council Service Center for rates and availability.
Summer brings with it long term Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Explorer
Camping in Camp Williams. We believe that the long term summer camping experience is not
only the highlight of the Scouting year, but is the culmination of every Troop's annual
program. This philosophy ensures that we will do everything possible to make sure each
Troop, Post, or Ship gets just the program they want.
Some Scouts prefer swimming, rowing, or canoeing on Lake Ruskin. Others
enjoy learning about our environment in the Ecology\Conservation Center. Rappelling,
horseback riding, or Delaware River canoe trips attract many older Scouts. Still others
Scouts choose to pursue advancement through the BSA Merit Badge program.
Unit program choices are just as important as individual choices at
RHSR. Central Dining Hall service is available at Towadena Hall, but Units are more than
welcome to utilize Patrol cooking in their campsites. Time is provided for Troop swims,
rifle shoots, archery shoots, and sports activities. Units can also arrange day trips to
our COPE Course at Camp Lewis. Inter-Troop competitions are frequent and often followed by
fellowship campfires.
Our camp staff is fully trained and all key staff members hold current
BSA National Camping School certifications. The camp is inspected annually by both the BSA
and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to ensure that we meet or exceed health and safety
standards.
