Here's one time I really wish the town had surprised me. As of 3:30PM today, July 7, there were no copies of the Municipal Budget available in the office of the Town Clerk. If you read the very last line of the budget as it was published in the Jersey Journal, here, it says that copies would be available.
Not only was the budget not available when my campaign manager and I went to ask for a copy, but another person who I had asked to try this morning was told the same thing.
I was told to come back tomorrow, July 8. I will go back, and I will be expecting my free copy of the 1998 Harrison Municipal Budget to be available. If I somehow get one, it will be published here on the web for everyone to see. If it is still not available, I will be taking additional steps to ensure that the people of Harrison have the ability to review the budget before the Council tries to approve it on July 27.
