Matt Dohn is the Republican candidate for the Third Ward Council seat for Harrison, New Jersey. He is seeking to become the Third Ward Councilman because he sees a distinct lack of leadership and foresight within the current administration. Matt feels that he can provide energy and a new outlook to the town's administration, along with his already well known skills in leadership and community service.

The youngest child of Phil and Helen Dohn, Matt has lived in Harrison all of his life. He is as active in his community as can be. His involvement with Boy Scout Troop 304, the Knights of Columbus, and his church have extended themselves into leadership positions within all of those organizations.

Matt holds the prestigious Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America and has served on the Executive Board of the Hudson Liberty Council. He currently serves as a member of the West District Committee serving Harrison, Kearny, East Newark, Secaucus, and Bayonne. Matt was also recently elected as the Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #402 in Harrison. He serves on the Parish Council at Holy Cross Church, and can usually be seen there on Sundays acting as an usher at Mass.

Matt's vision for Harrison addresses many of the concerns our residents face. We need better parks and schools for our children. We need a stable tax rate for our families. We need to ensure our future tax base so that our fixed income families can survive. We need to become the nicest place we can for people to live because of our location directly between the two largest cities in the state.

Harrison needs to become an oasis in the urban growth that is Northern New Jersey.
Harrison needs responsive officials prepared to live with the consequences of their actions.
Harrison needs someone whose concerns are not only immediate, but who has an eye on the future.
Harrison need proven leadership ability and hard-working family values in its government.

Harrison needs Matt Dohn on the Harrison Town Council.
