Dohn for Council Fundraiser Scheduled

It's come to that time in my attempt to become Councilman that I have to ask for support for my campaign. To me, this is the toughest part of this entire process because I don't like asking people for money. Unfortunately, sending out mailings, printing stationery, and preparing yard signs and handouts costs money - BIG money. A single mailing to every registered voter in the Third Ward costs over $400.00 in postage alone. By the time you add paper and envelopes, it's closer to $700.00 per mailing.

I don't just want to ask for handouts, so I'm holding a cocktail party to raise the funds I need. I really hope to sell enough tickets to make this work because I certainly don't want to have to do it again. If you would like to support the process of running this campaign, I'd really appreciate the help. Here are the details:

I have a special guest attending this party, too. Theresa DeLeón, who is running for Congress in our district, will be there. If you would like to meet this amazing woman, this will definitely be a great opportunity to talk with her.

I really hope to see a lot of you there. I haven't seen or talked to anywhere near enough of the residents of the ward yet. I look forward to seeing many people on the 16th.
