Have you ever climbed a mountain? Do
you know how to save a life? Can you survive in the wilderness?
Have you ever lived in a igloo for a weekend? Do you know how to
build a bridge out of a few trees and some rope?
Boy Scouts Do!
Scouts do all these things and more! Boy
Scouts get away from it all! They camp, hike and fish in the
great outdoors. They get together in troops, and try out new
experiences.
Weekend camping trips. Whitewater canoeing. Hiking
expeditions. Wilderness survival. Week long camping at Boy Scout
Summer Camp. The possibilities are limitless.
Not only that, but in a Boy Scout Troop, the boys do all the
planning and run these adventures. Sure, there's guidance from
the adult leaders, but when it comes to getting the job done, Boy
Scouts Do!

Get out into the woods - Boy Scouting is
designed to take place outdoors. It is in the outdoor setting
that Scouts share responsibilities and learn to live with one
another. It is here that the skills and activities practiced at
troop meetings come alive with purpose. Being close to nature
helps Boy Scouts gain an appreciation for God's handiwork and
humankind's place in it. The outdoors is the laboratory for Boy
Scouts to learn ecology and practice conservation of nature's
resources.

Learn and do things that most people
don't. Join a Boy Scout Troop in your neighborhood, and be a part
of the adventure. Boy Scouting is available to boys 11 through 17
years old, and there is a Troop near you. For more information,
or to find a local Troop, contact Hudson Liberty Council at the Council Service Center or call
201-659-2810.
Don't just watch - Do!
